What is ARGOS
ARGOS is a tool designed to help researchers create, manage, and share Data Management Plans (DMPs). It provides a structured approach to managing research data, ensuring compliance with institutional and funding requirements, while promoting collaboration and open science practices.
Concept, Role, and Challenges
I was responsible for upgrading the tool’s architecture, enhancing its features, and delivering a modern, user-friendly interface. The project aimed to meet the growing needs of the research community by supporting more complex workflows while maintaining a simple, intuitive user experience. The main challenge was balancing the integration of advanced functionalities with a seamless design that would streamline real-time collaboration and data management.

Why the Upgrade Was Necessary?
The ARGOS tool required a significant upgrade due to limitations in its previous architecture and design. The old design could not easily support new features or be scaled for future expansions. I had to ensure the new UI would effectively showcase the expanded functionalities in a way that felt intuitive and seamless to users.
01/ Scalability Issues
The old architecture couldn't easily support new or extended functionalities, making the upgrade essential for future growth. As a result, the user interface also needed to adapt to accommodate these expansions and changes.
02/ UI & UX Improvements
The redesign provided an opportunity to fix existing UI and UX issues that had been identified in the previous version.
03/ New Features and Support for Complex Workflows
The new version of ARGOS was designed to incorporate advanced features while supporting more complex workflows in data management, ensuring that users can handle larger and more sophisticated projects with ease.
